For a number of years, a group of about 25 Rotarians volunteer in the Magical Forest one evening early in December. Volunteers spend around four and a half hours at the event commitment during which they help load and unload trains, run the merry-go-round, sell drinks and treats, take tickets and act as crossing guards.
This is a major event for Opportunity Village and requires about 100 volunteers every evening. Opportunity Village is a sheltered workshop for individuals with intellectual challenges and a recognized center of excellence.
