Highway Clean-Up

In February 2013 the Rotary 25 Club of the Las Vegas Rotary Club renewed a contract with the Nevada Department of Transportation to clean up litter for 2 miles of SR195 Highway at mile marker 04.0 East Bound to the 06.0 marker. Our 25 Club meets at the Bonnie Springs entrance four times each year to clean litter from this stretch of High Way.

The Club usually has eight to twelve volunteers, some who come to help are not Rotary Members but friends and family. Anyone under the age of twelve years is not allowed to participate, NDOT regulations. A safety meeting is held each time to discuss issues that pertain to the clean up. NDOT provides Reflective Orange Vests and Orange Trash Bags which are left at our 25 Club sign. This notifies NDOT we have satisfied our commitment. Any unusual litter or hazardus waste is reported to NDOT for their consideration and is never handled by our 25 Club.
